Membership benefits:

Here are some of the primary benefits you’ll enjoy when you join our chapter:

Monthly membership programs throughout the year. Most programs are in-person at Olander Park, but we occasionally do online programs too. Recent program topics have included things like native grasses, a member’s insect research in her garden, how to collect and store native seeds, how to propagate those seeds, how bees react to climate change, cattle grazing at Oak Openings Metropark, and much more.

Meeting schedule: From September to May, our chapter meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Nederhouser Community Hall at Olander Park, 6930 Sylvania Ave., Sylvania, Ohio.

Our info-packed monthly Member Newsletter delivered by email on the first day of each month. It’s loaded with timely educational articles and upcoming events. Click the image above to join as a new member, or to renew your membership. (Note that you’ll be taken to our national Wild Ones website for the membership enrollment form. As you fill out the form, remember to select “Oak Openings Region” as your chapter affiliation.)

Field trips to local nature preserves to study various aspects of our natural world.

Our annual Seeds & Soup event during which we gather to package seeds to distribute to the community and at our two annual native plant sales.

A festive holiday banquet in December to look back on our activities from the year and give out native landscape and other awards.

And so much more: Our active chapter also gathers regularly for other activities such as native seed harvests, native garden installations, educational outreach, stewardship including invasive plant removal, and much more.
